our mission
The Michigan Victim Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the healing and protection of victims of violence, trauma, and abuse.
spacer Our mission focuses on meeting the needs of victims rather than on revenge, and we recognize that communication is the key in allowing the voices of victims to be heard. Our goals also include educating ourselves and the public on ways to help policymakers, community decision-makers, and the criminal justice system become more effective and more responsive to the needs of victims. To further these goals, the MVA develops partnerships with the broad spectrum of Michigan victim organizations and other groups that want to work with us to make Michigan a safer place in which to live and work.

REGULAR MEETINGS

The MVA board of directors meets monthly for dinner business meetings. When these sessions feature an outside speaker, we also notify the entire membership so that they can attend.

In December each year, we host a special Holiday Support Session, open to full membership, where we talk about issues that make this season such a challenge for victims.
