SERVICES The Michigan Crime Victim Services Commission offers a broad range of services. You can find a complete listing of these services at http://mova.missouri.org/viccomp.htm. You may also need to access various elements of the criminal justice system: Federal Bureau of Investigation offices in Michigan; Michigan State Police; Michigan Department of Corrections; county prosecutors (and their victim/witness coordinators); county sheriffs; municipal police agencies; and district court probation officers. Be safe online is full of advice on how to keep children safe online, and avoid cyberstalking and fraud and how to clear your computer if you don't want others to know where you've been onthe Internet. Crime in Michigan takes a look at the statistics and offers some explainations, and our links page has a plethora of organizations on it. The Michigan Sex Offender Database allows you to see if there are any known sex offenders in your neighborhood. There is also a list of nationwide sex offender databases on APBnews.com. Stop by the crime victims' rights website created by state Senator William Van Regenmorter. Any other website linked to from the Michigan Crime Victims' website will appear in it's own window. This allows you to browse it simultaneously, and then close out of it when finished.
