On the Horizon
With
the invaluable assistance of the Michigan Department of Community Health,
the Commission is conducting a thorough review of its internal operations,
customer relations, and public awareness strategy. The purpose is to
be as internally efficient as technology will permit, while boosting
our response to the needs of crime victims, their advocates, and their
providers. In a short period of time, there will be some very visible
evidence of this endeavor:
- The
Application of Victim Compensation is being re-written for ease of
use. We hope to have the application online in the not-too-distant
future.
- Our
Claim Specialists have been connected to the FIA Client Information
System (CIS) to speed the accurate review and referral of collateral
resources in claim investigations.
- The
Commission is embarking on a project with the Michigan Public Health
Institute to develop better instruments for assessing local victim
assistance funding needs.
