COURT AND HOSPITAL ADVOCACY
PROGRAM
Court Advocacy Program
Court Advocate personnel guide victims through the process of filing
for an Emergency Protective Order and accompany them to court hearings.
Court Advocates explain to victims the nature and implications of legal
procedures and facilitate child care and transportation services to
ensure court attendance. Victims are assisted in locating community
resources to fit their immediate needs.
Hospital Advocacy
Hospital
advocacy is available as volunteers provide rape or domestic violence
victims with resource information during the emergency room visit at
the time of the initial victimization and provide advocacy and emotional
support during court proceedings.
